This new five coin series from the Perth Mint depicts famous ships that changed the world, the first of these silver proof coins will be the Santa Maria and followed by the release of the Golden Hind. Each of these coins will be 1oz of .999 silver and minted to proof specification,each silver proof coinis housed in a case and comes with an illustrated shipper, also each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of each of these coins for collectors, the five coins released will be Santa Maria, Golden Hind, Mayflower, USS Constitution and the Cutty Sark.

The Golden Hind circumnavigation of the globe between 1577 and 1580 and captained by Sir Francis Drake, the design depicts the Golden Hind on a coloured background. Released in 2011 and the second in the series no more than 5,000 of these silver proof coins have been minted.


The Mayflower

This third release in the series features the Mayflower which was the cargo ship that transported the English separatists or pilgrims from a site near the Mayflower Steps in Plymouth, England to Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620. Released in 2012 and the third in the series no more than 5,000 of these silver coins have been minted.

The USS Constitution

This fourth release in the series features the USS Constitution a wooden-hulled, three-masted, heavy frigate of the United States Navy. Released in 2012 and the fourth in the series no more than 5,000 of these silver coins have been minted.



Cutty Sark

This fifth release in the series features the Cutty Sark built in 1869 at Dumbarton, Scotland. Released in 2012 and the fifth in the series no more than 5,000 of these silver coins have been minted.
