Famous Ships That Never Sailed

The Famous Ships That Never Sailed series released by the Perth Mint celebrates six of the world’s most and well known fictional ships, and adding a new chapter to maritime legends. Each of the released silver bullion coins will be minted to a silver proof quality and will have a weight of one full troy ounce of silver (31.135 grams). These coins will be beautifully presented in a timber case in the form of a book with an exclusive mintage of only 3,000 of each design released by the mint. The six released coins in this series will feature the ships, The Flying Dutchman, The Pequod, The Dementer, The Jolly Roger, The Gloria Scott and finally The Nautilus.

The Dementer

The Demeter is the third vessel to feature in this coin series, from Bram Stoker’s gothic horror story Dracula. Released in 2013 and the third in the series, a total mintage of only 3,000 silver proof 1oz coins will be released..

The Jolly Roger

The Jolly Roger, from James Barrie classic tale Peter Pan. Released in 2014 and the fourth coin in this series, with no more than 3,000 of these silver proof coins will be minted.
