Vancouver Maple Leaf

Olympic Vancouver Series

The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) released in 2008 a issue of three silver bullion coins for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, all three Maples will be one ounce silver bullion coins of .9999 purity like all other Silver Maple Leaf. The 2008 Vancouver Maple features the Inukshuk (the spirit of the games), the 2009 Vancouver Maple features the Thunderbird and the 2010 Vancouver Maple will feature the Vancouver Whistler. These coins feature a specimen finish, a three-fold combination of different finishes. The design includes both brilliant and mirrored surfaces, while the background are subtly striated resulting in a contrasting matte appearance.
